Description:
Join the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts & Humanities and the Black Heritage Council of the Alabama Historical Commission for a free workshop on African American cemetery preservation.
Led by Frazine Taylor and Elvin Lang, the workshop will cover cemetery art, maintenance of historic cemeteries, how to place a cemetery on the Alabama Historic Cemetery Register, and how to use cemeteries

Frazine Taylor is the former Head of Reference for the Alabama Department of Archives and History and has over twenty years of experience as a librarian, archivist, lecturer and writer. She is the author of
Researching African American Genealogy in Alabama: A Resource Guide and currently serves as the chair of the Black Heritage Council of the Alabama Historical Commission.
Elvin Lang is a member of the board of the Black Heritage Council of the Alabama Historical Commission and a former manager for the Alabama Department of Environmental Management.
