Visiting Scholar Victor S. Batista will give a talk, Olfactory Receptors: How our sense of smell starts at the molecular level, on Thursday, Feb. 15, in the Science Center Auditorium from 7:30 – 9 p.m.
Batista is a professor of chemistry at Yale University. His research is concerned with the development of rigorous and practical methods for simulations of quantum processes in complex systems, and with applied studies of photochemical and electrochemical processes.
 
Batista will also be the guest speaker for the Chemistry and Biochemistry Colloquium on Friday, Feb. 16, from 3:30 – 5 p.m. in Science Center Classroom 115.
 
All events are sponsored by the College of Sciences and Mathematics, the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, the College of Liberal Arts, and the Phi Beta Kappa Chapter at Auburn University.
