Dr. Stanley Hauerwas, Professor Emeritus of Divinity and Law at Duke University, will be speaking on Sept. 21, 2017, for the Philosophy and Religion Workshop. In his talk, "Kierkegaard and the Academy: A Theological Meditation," Hauerwas will speak on
the role of the church and theology in the development of the modern university and how Soren Kierkegaard’s work on the relationship between theology and society can help us better understand the interaction between the theological and the socio-political in
today’s university. The event will take place in Langdon Hall at 5 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
