February 28, 2017
Time: 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Location: Foy Auditorium

Dr. Sarah Lewis is a bestselling author, curator, and assistant professor at Harvard University. Her most recent book is a Los Angeles Times bestseller, The Rise: Creativity, the Gift of Failure, and the Search for Mastery (Simon & Schuster), a narrative of how innovation, discovery, and creative progress are driven by the challenges of goals not yet achieved.
As part of Auburn University’s celebration of Black History Month, Lewis will speak on Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. in the Foy Auditorium, on Auburn University’s main campus. Her presentation – which features prominent African American figures who worked through “failure” to achieve “mastery” as part of their process of innovation and discovery – is free and open to everyone. A book signing will follow the event.
