Dr. Gumbs will also conduct a free workshop on Tuesday, March 3rd from 3:30-5:00 pm in 310 Tichenor: “Rigorous Loving: Sustainable Practices for Building Intellectual Community in Your Own Backyard.”

Dr. Gumbs’ visit is co-sponsored by the Africana Studies Program, the Multicultural Center, and the Women’s Leadership Institute.
 
Dr. Gumbs is a self-identified “Queer Black Troublemaker and Black Feminist Love Evangelist.” Through critical scholarly work, poems, essays, love letters, and experimental fiction, she spreads the message that Black Feminism Lives and that together we can create the world we deserve.
