Fall 2014 Africana Studies Affiliate Lecture Series presents: “The Voting Rights Act: Race, Law and the Future of Our Elections"
Co- sponsored with the RBD Library and Archives
 
Drs. Brown and Hale will discuss the changing national landscape in elections administration as it pertains to race and ethnicity, including voter ID, language assistance for non-native English speakers, and other access issues.
 
Dr. Mitchell Brown is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science researching the empowerment of marginalized groups in America and abroad. She has authored numerous articles and book chapters on this topic and is an instructor in the Certified Election & Voter Registration Administrators program.
Dr. Kathleen Hale is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science. She is an award-winning author, the Director of the Auburn University MPA program, a board member of the Election Center, a member of the Professional Education Certification Board of the Election Center, and a regular instructor in the Certified Election & Voter Registration Administrators program.
