Location: Cater Lawn National Two Step CPR is an annual event whose purpose is to engage the public and educate them on the benefits of compressions-only/hands-only Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Training will take place at Cater Lawn on Friday, February 7, 2020 from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm . During 5-minute training sessions, participants learned how to act quickly in the event of cardiac emergencies by following two easy steps: 1) Call 911 and 2) Initiate hands-only CPR. Compressions-only CPR is easy to perform, and can be done by the layman in emergency situations in order to buy time until Emergency Medical Services arrive. The event was created by a group of medical students in 2016 after recognizing the need to train more individuals in lifesaving, hands-only CPR. In its inaugural year the event trained more than 4,200 individuals. This is not a CPR certification class. |
