Musician Mr. Sipp The Mississippi Blues Child will perform a free concert hosted by the Food Bank of East Alabama and the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts & Humanities at Pebble Hill (101 S. Debardeleben Street).


The Music on the Hill event is free and open to the public, and attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair.  In lieu of tickets, please bring a canned food item or monetary donation to contribute to the Food Bank of East Alabama's Beat Bama Food Drive.


Castro Coleman aka Mr. Sipp The Mississippi Blues Child is an international touring blues artist. He was the 2014 winner of the International Blues Challenge and was named the 2014 Gibson Best Guitarist. Coleman was cast in the James Brown film Get on Up as Les Buie, Brown’s first guitar player. In 2017, he joined the cast of CMT’s Sun Records as a young BB King. A native of McComb, Mississippi, he is involved with the Mississippi Arts Commission and conducts programs in the area schools teaching the young and old about the blues.


Since 1994, the Beat Bama Food Drive benefiting the Food Bank of East Alabama has united students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members in the fight against hunger and poverty in East Alabama. To learn more, visit www.foodbankofeastalabama.com.
