The public is invited to a talk on the early history of Steinway & Sons by Sally Phillips.

Over the past 40 years, piano technician Sally Phillips has worked in virtually every aspect of the piano industry: service, retail, wholesale, and manufacturing. In her role as a concert piano technician, she has tuned and prepared pianos for concert and recording work in such venues as Town Hall in New York City, Alice Tully Hall, the Kennedy Center, and for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Concert Orchestra, and the Vienna Philharmonic. Phillips lives in Columbus, Georgia and is the concert technician for the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University and the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.


The event is free, open to the public, and will be followed by refreshments. The Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts & Humanities at Pebble Hill is located at 101 S. Debardeleben Street, Auburn.
