Head Coach, Robb Taylor, will introduce you to the sport of wheelchair basketball. He will talk about the history of the Auburn Wheelchair Basketball program and the direction the team is headed. He will also talk about his experience as a coach with the US Paralympic Team and how that success at that level led him to Auburn. Please join us to find out more about this growing program on our campus.

 

Robb Taylor

Head Coach, Auburn University Wheelchair Basketball

Robb Taylor came to Auburn in March of 2016. Coach Taylor has been involved in wheelchair basketball since 1999. He began coaching at the University of Illinois, where he received his undergraduate degree and served as assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s teams on campus. After graduating, he moved to Arizona and became the head coach of the Phoenix Mercury, women’s wheelchair basketball team. After several successful years in Arizona, Coach Taylor returned to Chicago and became the head coach of the Windy City Warriors, a junior team. Throughout his career, he has been involved with both the men’s and women’s U.S. National Paralympic Teams. Taylor served as the assistant coach for the gold medal-winning U.S. Women’s Paralympic team for the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing and most recently was an assistant coach for the gold medal-winning U.S. Men’s Paralympic team for the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio. Coach Taylor will continue as Assistant Coach of the U.S. Men’s Paralympic team through the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo.
