On Tuesday, January 29th at 3:00 PM in 2550 Mell Classroom Building, the Center for Health Ecology and Equity Research (CHEER) will host the first speaker of their Spring 2019 Seminar Series. Richard M Lee, PhD is Professor and Associate Chair for Research in the Department of Psychology at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. He received his PhD in Psychology (Counseling) from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1996. He is Editor-in-Chief of Cultural Diversity and Ethnic Minority Psychology, Past President of the Asian American Psychological Association, and Current Chair of the Society for Research on Child Development Asian Caucus. To launch the CHEER Spring 2019 Seminar Series, Dr. Lee will present "Addressing Health Disparities by Talking About Race and Ethnicity in the Family". He will discuss his research investigating transracial and transnational experiences of internationally adopted Korean American children and youth raised in White families.
