April 04, 2018
Time: 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Location: Haley Center to Langdon Hall

In commemoration of King’s assassination 50 years ago, Auburn will host two days of events – all leading towards becoming the Beloved Community.
Beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, there will be a march from Haley Center to Langdon Hall. Sarah Collins-Rudolph, the survivor of the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham and sister of Addie Mae Collins, one of the four little girls killed in the bombing, will host a conversation, and then she will join students and community residents for a candle light vigil in front of Samford Hall.  At 7:05 p.m., Samford Hall’s bells will chime to commemorate the time King was assassinated in Memphis, TN, in 1968.
All the events are free and open to the public.
