The Community and Civic Engagement (CCE) initiative in the College of Liberal Arts will be celebrating No Impact Week from March 25 – April 1. http://www.cla.auburn.edu/cla/cce/no-impact-week/no-impact-week-events/
On Monday, March 26, from 8 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. No Impact Week will host “Is it Just Food?” a one-day symposium about food at Pebble Hill. Breakfast and lunch will be provided at no charge. The keynote speaker is Will Harris, owner of White Oaks Pastures and a fourth generation cattleman. Harris will speak at 12 p.m. (noon) about how he changed his family farm from being a traditional cattle farm to a sustainable, multi-species, pastured farm to improve the land and provide a better quality of life for his animals. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m.
Also at Monday’s symposium, local farmers and other food-related organizations will be showcasing their products. Vendors include Hornsby Farms, Tiger Dining, AU Sustainability, and others.
This event, as well as all events during No Impact Week, are free and open to all.
