March 01, 2018
Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Location: Pebble Hill

The public is invited to a screening and discussion of American Creed, a co-production of Citizen Film and WTTW Chicago.

In the documentary film American Creed, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Pulitzer Prize-winning historian David M. Kennedy come together from different backgrounds and points of view to investigate the idea of a unifying American creed. How, ask Rice and Kennedy, have American ideals of freedom, fairness, equality, and opportunity been shaped? How are they interpreted today? Rice and Kennedy’s spirited inquiry frames the stories of citizen-activists striving to realize their own visions of America’s promise. The documentary premieres on Alabama Public Television on Tuesday, February 27 at 8:00 p.m.

A discussion will follow the screening, and the event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided. Co-sponsors for the screening include Alabama Public Television, Alabama Together, David Mathews Center for Civic Life, Spirit of Democracy, and BCaB – A Holy Trinity Episcopal Church Ministry.
