This workshop builds on the Team Based Learning (TBL) concepts introduced in our Summer Course (Re)Design program and EASL Academy Level 1. It is conducted in the TBL format to demonstrate the process, while also providing participants a glimpse at the student experience of TBL. The structure, process, and essential characteristics of an effective TBL module are emphasized as participants complete a pre-workshop reading, take an IRAT (readiness assessment test), and engage actively with their assigned team members during the workshop. By the workshop’s conclusion, participants will be able to describe the elements of TBL and debate how they impact small group learning through experiencing a TBL module.
