October 16, 2017
Time: 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM
Location: AU Hotel and Conference Center

Beginning Sunday, Oct. 15, Auburn University will host the Election Center’s second biennial "Inclusion and Integrity in Election Administration" symposium (Oct. 15 – 17). The majority of the three-day event will take place at The Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center, with a welcome event at Pebble Hill starting at 6 p.m. on Sunday.

The symposium brings together election officials, academics from around the country, local volunteers, and advocates to discuss the pressing issues facing elections today. With a range of speakers at the event, it provides an opportunity for students, faculty, and the public to learn more about the government’s election process and engage in the ongoing conversation. Topics include election cyber-security, voting equipment, the cost of elections, and issues related to access, participation, and diversity.

The Masters in Public Administration Program (MPA) in the College of Liberal Arts initiated the symposium in 2015, and has worked closely with the Election Center to train election officials by conducting the nation’s only professional certification program for the field. Auburn's MPA is also home to the nation’s oldest academic graduate program in election administration, and to several applied research projects initiated for the benefit of election professionals.

The event is open to the public. To learn more about the event or to register, visit http://electioncenter.org/conference.php?id=164
