April 24, 2017
Time: 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Location: Telfair Peet Theatre Main Stage

Auburn University Theatre will be holding auditions on Monday, April 24th at 6:00 p.m. on the mainstage of the Telfair B. Peet Theatre for "Antigone," which will run on the Telfair B. Peet MainStage Sept. 21st - Sept. 29th, 2017. Auditions will be held Monday, April 24, with callbacks on Tuesday, April 25. The production begins rehearsals on the first day of classes in August.

Theatre majors interested in auditioning should sign up for the first available audition slot on the call board across from the green room in the Telfair Peet Theater starting April 17. Non-majors wishing to audition should email casting@auburn.edu for an audition time.

Please prepare a one-minute dramatic monologue, choosing material that suggests aspects of the character you are most interested in playing in "Antigone." While the Anouilh/Galantiere version is in contemporary language, the characters embody a heightened sense of truth, and the actor must demonstrate that s/he can fully commit to the emotional scale of the drama.

More information about the play can be obtained by visiting the theatre’s main office, or by calling 334-844-4154. Reading the script is encouraged in order to prepare for auditions.
