​ Dr. Lawrence Grinter, Professor Emeritus, Air War College will discuss how the interests of most Asian & Pacific countries are strongly affected by South China Sea developments. Over 30% of global maritime trade transits the South China Sea. The Spratly Islands, in particular, have been the scene of land grabbing and periodic military actions. International law has proved ineffective. And the recent tensions among China and the new administration of the United States emphasizes the need for sensible policies by all concerned parties.
