November 15, 2016
Time: 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Location: Green Space next to the Student Center

Take Back the Night will be kicking off at 7:30 p.m. on the Green Space by the Student Center.

Take Back the Night is a domestic violence and sexual assault awareness event that provides insight into the experiences of those affected by gender-based violence and allow allies to stand in support of the movement to end it. The event on Tuesday includes a dynamic speak out by those engaged in the movement and a march around the campus to symbolize a restoration of power to survivors, which often takes place in metaphoric and actual darkness. Organized by the students in SOCY 5670/6670 in collaboration with the Women’s Center.

This event supports victims and survivors of sexual assault and rape, giving them and those who support them an outlet to share their stories as well as receive support. This event is open to all students and individuals who have been affected by sexual assault, want to know more about preventing assaults, and those who wish to support victims and survivors.

Please share this event with everyone! Help give a voice to victims and survivors.
