This talk centers around the life and writing of a young Cherokee man, Dewi (or David) Brown, who became an important advocate for Cherokee political and cultural identity in the pre-Removal Cherokee
Nation. Although he died in 1829 in his mid-twenties, Brown left a body of writing through which he stands out as an important voice for his people. |
