In conjunction with the the Common Book Program, the Multicultural Center is hosting a presentation by Southern Poverty Law Center fellow, economic justice advocate, and Auburn graduate Sara Wood, concerning the criminalization of poverty in the Deep South.
The discussion will delve into how poor people in America today are not only facing an economic gap – they’re also facing a justice gap. Too often, poor people are exploited abused, and stigmatize for simply being poor. Come by room 2107 in the Auburn Student
Center on Monday August 22 beginning at 11:30am. Light refreshments will be served. We invite you to come hear how you can be an advocate for the poor in Alabama and your community. |
