The Auburn community is invited to a panel discussion on the U.S. role in the Middle East on Friday, Nov. 13, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the Auburn University Hotel & Dixon Conference Center.
 
Panelists include Gen. Lloyd Austin III, commander of United States Central Command, and U.S. Rep. Martha Roby, representative of Alabama’s 2nd District and member of the House Committee on Appropriations. Lt. Gen. (retired) Ron Burgess, senior counsel for National Security Programs, Cyber Programs and Military Affairs at Auburn University, will moderate the discussion.
 
Topics will include the Balance of Diplomacy and Military Force in the Middle East, Military Restructuring and Budget Constraints, Role of CENTCOM, ISIS Threat and U.S. Response to Russian Action in Syria.
 
The discussion is free and open to the community.
