ABOUT THE BOOK:
This hardcover book contains 448 pages holding 170 years of the change and progress the Auburn Family has witnessed in their lifetime. Beginning in the 1830s to 2013, more than 800 photos illustrate historical events in Auburn’s past. Such as Langdon Hall movies, Cows Grazing at Comer Hall, Basketball at the Barn, Football in Ross Square, 85,319 at Jordan-Hare Stadium, to University Chapel, President Roosevelt’s Visit, Punt-Bama-Punt, Squeal Day, and War Eagle in Flight. These photos are sure to overcome an Auburn lover with nostalgic and wistful memories.
Not only are there cherished university traditions that we still see today, but there is also history on the Creek Indian hunting grounds, which we know of today as Auburn University’s campus. The book includes a history of the grounds, and there is also a map that gives readers perspective of what was there in the 1830s and what is there today.
The pictures throughout the book are printed in black and white, except the last chapter, which is in color. Starting in 1996 and ending present day, readers will get to see the Auburn’s recent history of oranges, blues, and good times.
