The College of Liberal Arts at Auburn University is launching a Professional Skills Development in Community Arts Certificate that will be offered over six months, August 2014 through January 2015, on the Auburn University campus, in Auburn, AL. Additionally, skills renewal modules will be offered annually.
The Professional Skills Development in Community Arts Certificate offers six modules that provide 20 contact hours of professional skills development education relevant to community arts management and individual careers in a supportive learning environment with leading experts in their fields. Course emphasis is on providing practical skills and tools in the areas of media skills development and application, fundraising, public relations, copyright, leadership, and grant writing for community arts development. Professional networking opportunities will be included in some of the modules. No pre-requisites or textbooks are required for our non-credit Continuing Education courses.
The Certificate will be of interest to individuals who work within community arts organizations, artists, students, arts volunteers, art educators.  The Professional Skills Development in Community Arts Certificate is designed for those seeking to develop and build upon professional skills in the arts and for those who are seeking the most up to date professional development in the topic areas offered. Skills refreshment modules will be offered annually. Registrants will receive a certificate upon completion of six modules  (20 contact hours of instruction, two Continuing Education Units.)
