April is National Poetry Month and Sexual Assault Awareness Month and the two themes are recognized with one great event:  Speak Up, a night of poetry and spoken word on Tuesday, April 15th at 6:00 PM in Foy Auditorium.  Speak Up will feature six amazingly talented spoken word artists who will raise awareness of sexual assault through their gift of spoken word. This event is FREE and open to the public.

Speak Up was organized by Counseling Psychology graduate student, April Scott, in collaboration with the Sexual Assault Awareness Month committee. For more information, please contact her at ads0027@auburn.edu

The Poets:
Soul Scribe, an award-winning poet whose poetry ranges on a variety of subjects from love to hate, politics to spirituality, social consciousness to injustice and much more, allowing her to encompass all areas of life.
Las4eva, who has been writing poems, short stories, and plays since the age of 9.  In 2001, he wrote, directed, and produced his very first play entitled, "Soulfood or Fastfood," based on the synopsis of why some people spend more time planning weddings than they do their lives.
Rewop, whose goal is to create, share, hone, write, learn, and educate while being innovative, original, spiritual, political, radical and revolutionary, bringing her craft of spoken word to the masses.
Pariah, an award-winning poet who has been featured in nearly 20 different hip hop and urban magazines; he's been featured on the Award winning PBS show Kaleidoscope.
