The Masters of Public Administration Program in the Department of Political Science in the College of Liberal Arts is celebrating “Public Service Without Borders” Week, April 7-11, 2014. On Tuesday, April 8, there will be a panel discussion beginning at 6:30 p.m. in 112 Thach Hall. This panel discussion features three participants active in international public service, including Katie Meyler, founder of More Than Me, a school that gets girls off the streets in Liberia; Kristin Lobron, co-founder and partner of Collaborative Development Network, a firm that provides business support services to international NGOs; and David Simpson, Managing Director for Programs and Compliance at VEGA, where he manages and administers international development programs. The participants will discuss their own careers in international public service, offer advice for students interested in this career path, and discuss current trends, challenges, and opportunities in the international development arena.
