Location: Harbert H111, Auburn University
Reducing groundwater flow and groundwater contamination are important topics in geotechnical engineering. The TRD device is a novel and exciting way to decrease both. This huge machine quickly creates an effective groundwater
cutoff. Details of the technique will be presented as well as an evaluation of the wall performance at the Herbert Hoover Dike at Lake Okeechobee, Florida. Performance issues addressed include hydraulic conductivity, strength, in situ stress state, and cracking.
Dr. Evans will describe the apparatus and give case histories.
