While clickers as interactive classroom response systems have been used on college campuses for over a decade now, there are still challenges that faculty face with respect to engaging students with this technology. In recent years, advances in technology
have allowed for new and interesting types of questions that show promise for assessing student learning. Dr. S. Raj Chaudhury, associate director of the Biggio Center, will provide an overview of clickers (http://iclicker.com)
and innovative types of questions beyond multiple choice that are now possible. Dr. Amy Skibiel, Department of Biological Sciences will join him to discuss her use of an innovative online system called Learning Catalytics (https://learningcatalytics.com)
