Online learning offers a unique opportunity to reach students where they live. However, engaging students in the online environment presents a particular set of challenges. Gone are the days of static learning
in the online dimension. Faculty must get creative in order to keep online learners engaged in meaningful ways. Similar to face-to-face courses, integrating active learning into course material can go a long way to engage students (Khan, Egbue, Palkie & and
