The public is invited to a book talk by Katie Lamar Jackson, author of
A Movement of the People: The Roots of Environmental Education and Advocacy in Alabama.
A Movement of the People is a detailed history of the Alabama Environmental Quality Association (AEQA). The AEQA helped to establish groundbreaking environmental
protection and natural resource preservation policies for the state and the region and grew into one of the nation’s most progressive environmental education efforts.
Katie Lamar Jackson is a journalist and photographer. She retired from the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station at Auburn University, where she managed all publications and marketing activities.
The event is free, open to the public, and will be followed by refreshments. Books will be available for purchase and signing. The Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts & Humanities at Pebble Hill
is located at 101 S. Debardeleben Street, Auburn.
