Please join us for Girls In Aviation Day 2017! This event is put on by the Women in Aviation International, War Eagle Chapter, on Saturday, September 23rd. The event will take place at the Auburn University Regional Airport,
located at 2150 Mike Hubbard Boulevard, Opelika, AL 36801. Girls In Aviation Day (GIAD) will last from 9:00 AM CDT - 2:00 PM CDT. Our mission is to promote the advancement of the next generation of girls in all aviation and aerospace careers! This event is
open to all ages and genders; However, minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. This fun, outdoor event will have interactive booths where participants can learn about the four forces of flight and the aviation alphabet. Other booths will have activities,
including creating your own tail number, and face painting! Girl Scouts will be able to complete the activities at each booth in order to receive the Girl Scout Aviation Fun Patch. We will also have aircraft on static display, as well as booths from other aviation
organizations, including the Alabama Wing Civil Air Patrol. Free parking is available at the Auburn University Regional Airport, and we will have volunteers directing traffic. The event is outdoors; However, the FBO will be readily accessible with restrooms
and air conditioning. We will also have a photo booth and Mama Goldberg’s Deli food truck on site. We are so excited to share our passion for aviation with you, and we hope to see you there!
