Preliminary sessions for the Fall 2013 Three Minute Thesis competition will be held from 10-11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, in rooms 2222 and 2223 of the Student Center. The top 10 competitors in the preliminaries will advance to the 3MT final at 2 p.m. Wednesday,
Nov. 13, in the auditorium of The Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center. Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is a research communication competition developed by The University of Queensland that gives graduate students three minutes to present a compelling
oration on their thesis and its significance. 3MT is not an exercise in trivializing or "dumbing down" research, but challenges students to consolidate their ideas and research discoveries so they can be presented concisely to a non-specialist audience. For
