Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art, Auburn University will release Audubon in the Arboretum: A Field Guide in October 2013. With research support from the Auburn University Libraries, the Donald E. Davis Arboretum, and the College of Sciences and Mathematics, the publication coincides with the openings of the exhibition Audubon in the Arboretum at JCSM and the Audubon trail in the Davis Arboretum.  The publication features essays by the Davis Arboretum’s curator, Dee Smith, and Scott Bishop, JCSM’s curator of education and curator of the Louise Hauss and David Brent Miller Audubon Collection. The field guide pairs Arboretum signage that identifies Audubon prints and matches the images with living native plants. QR codes will allow visitors to hear birdcalls on their smart phones.

Join us for presentations by authors, Dee Smith, the Davis Arboretum’s curator, and Scott Bishop, JCSM’s curator of education and curator of the Louise Hauss and David Brent Miller Audubon Collection. A reception follows. For more information visit www.jcsm.auburn.edu
