Joanna Campbell Blake, a native of Mobile, Alabama, is a figurative sculptor in Washington D.C. She graduated from Auburn in ’99 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Since 2001, she has worked for Kaskey Studio Inc., where she has contributed her design and sculpting skills to the creation of a number of large scale public monuments, most notably, the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. and the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville, Tennessee. In collaboration with Gary Wagoner, she has created numerous terra-cotta works for the Auburn campus. Recently, she completed an eight by ten foot bronze sculpture to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Bladensburg in the War of 1812 and two relief panels to honor slaves buried at the Contraband and Freedmens Cemetery Memorial in Alexandria, VA.

Auditorium seating is limited, so advanced registration is encouraged through the Eventbrite app of www.jcsm.auburn.edu/programs.

The Museum Cafe will be open for small plate dining and specialty beverage service. The galleries are also open following the talk. See what's on view.
