Dr. Allison will speak on “Myths, Presumptions, and the Need for Probative Research in Obesity.” The author of more than 450 scientific publications and editor of five books, Dr. Allison is the Quetelet Endowed Professor of Public Health at the University
of Alabama-Birmingham. He also served as associate dean for science, director of the Office of Energetics and director of the NIH-funded Nutrition Obesity Research Center at UAB.
