Pulitzer prize-winning author part of Media Messenger series
 
A public lecture by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Hank Klibanoff will be given on Thursday, Sept. 19, at 3 p.m. in Tichenor, room 215 as part of the School of Communication and Journalism's Media Messenger Lecture Series.
 
Klibanoff is co-author of “The Race Beat: The Press, the Civil Rights Struggle and the Awakening of a Nation,” winner of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize in History. His lecture on Thursday is, "Birmingham 1963: Pride, Prejudice and the Perversion of Truth in News Coverage." This event is free and open to all.
 
Klibanoff is director of the Journalism Program and James M. Cox Jr. Professor of Journalism at Emory University, an Alabama native and a veteran of 36 years in newsrooms at major newspapers.
